First District is home to the students of the greater San Gabriel Valley located in Los Angeles County. We serve 23 councils, 290 units, 13 out of council units (including Pasadena City College) and represent an annual membership of over 90,000. We work closely with the Los Angeles County Office of Education to organize and support multiple PTAs at court schools and are especially proud to be the first PTA district in the state to assist in establishing a PTA unit at a juvenile detention facility for the sole purpose of offering parent information, collaboration and parent education classes. Meetings and classes are typically standing room only!

 

      Providing training, mentoring, leadership, guidance and support through workshops, The Herald-newsletter, monthly meetings, field services, participation in panel discussions, presentations at forums and various other activities and programs are a priority in our district. We strive to be a conduit for the flow of information between local councils/units and the state PTA. Our most important commitment is to advocate for every child with one voice.
