First District PTA was the "first" district PTA established, June 25, 1912, when California State PTA was organized.
Today the First District geographic area, which encompasses Burbank to Pomona, west to east, and Altadena to Hacienda/La Puente, north to south, serves children, families, PTAs, and schools of the greater San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County.
High profile entertainment studios to historic landmarks, missions and clustered community and private college enclaves extend across the expanse of the First District region. Diverse demographics and multicultural populations make up the twenty nine (29) school districts and communities that exist within the boundaries.
Approximately 285 unit PTAs (school PTAs) are grouped into twenty four (24) council PTAs throughout the expanse of the First District region with a few outlying units, including Pasadena City College, remaining "Out of Council". Collectively, more than 95,000 PTA members are represented by First District PTA
First District PTA leaders strive to provide resources, training, and leadership and to be accessible via a communication network centered at the district office to serve council and unit leaders and PTA members.
We are "First" from Burbank to Pomona...imagine, believe, achieve, for children every day!
